You may attack with ranged weapons against an opponent engaged in melee without taking the standard -4 penalty on your attack roll.
Additionally, whenever you hit an opponent with a ranged weapon attack, your allies may treat you as flanking the opponent until the beginning of your next turn. This does not grant you the +2 bonus for flanking - only your allies in melee benefit from this.
