Elan

Elans are not natural creatures. Rather, they are biological approximations of humanoid forms. As such, elans vary tremendously in appearance. Many generally resemble human builds and colors, but some emulate the features of elves or xephs. They are generally tall and lean, but this is not a hard-and-fast rule. However, all elans are subtly "off" in their features - their faces are just a bit too soft, limbs just a bit too long, or mannerisms just a bit too strange.

Elans range from 5 to 7 feet tall and weigh anywhere from 100 to 300 pounds. Males are typically larger than females, but not consistently. Elans do not age, and because they are artificial, they are generally considered adults as soon as they are made.

To some, elans are the psionic equavalent of terrifying undead liches. They are not born, but are intead created during a complex psionic ritual that transforms a humanoid creature into an elan. The elan's past life is only remembered as a vague dream, often resulting in a complete change in personality. Common myth holds that an elan is not even the same person who underwent the ritual, but rather that the creation of an elan is a way to give physical hosts to extraplanar parasites. Whatever the truth may be, elans are nonetheless universally shunned and often end up as cryptic wanderers with unpredictable motives.

Abberation

Elans are abberations. Spells that target only humanoids, such as Enlarge Person, do not work on elans.

Naturally Psionic

Elans gain 2 bonus power points per level.

Resistance (Su)

Elans can use psionic energy to increase their resistance to various forms of attack. As an immediate action, an elan can spend 1 power point to gain a +4 racial bonus on saving throws until the beginning of her next action.

Resilience (Su)

When an elan takes damage, she can spend power points to reduce its severity. As an immediate action, she can reduce the damage she is about to take by 2 hit points for every 1 power point she spends.

Repletion (Su)

An elan can sustain her body without need of food or water. If she spends 1 power point, an elan does not need to eat or drink for 24 hours.
