Precision
Precision is a measure of a character's overall coordination, motor skill, balance, and sense of direction. Note that this stat does not determine your overall acrobatic ability - if you need to do a backflip, you're probably going to need athletics instead. A character with a high precision score will be good at:
- Slipping through tight spaces quickly
- Balancing on precarious surfaces
- Intricate dancing
- Assembling or taking apart very small objects
What Do The Scores Mean?
Score | Rarity | General examples |
---|---|---|
1 | Abnormally ungraceful, usually only seen in small children. | Clumsy children, seniors with tremors. |
2 | Noticeably clumsy person. | Frequently drops things, has a very hard time dancing |
3 | Average, reasonably coordinated person. | Average person. |
4 | Somewhat common, graceful person. | Hunter, watchmaker, apprentice acrobat. |
5 | Uncommon, maybe one in a hundred. | Skilled archer, skilled street performer. |
6 | Rare, maybe one in a thousand. | Marksman, respected performer. |
7 | Very rare, maybe one in ten thousand. | Decorated marksman, famous dancer. |
8 | Exceptional, maybe one in a city. | Legendary sniper, wold-renowned dancer. |
If your precision score is reduced to 0 you can no longer get your bearings or fully control your movements. Whenever you attempt to move, roll a die and consult the following table:
Result | Action |
---|---|
1 | Stumble forward. |
2 | Stumble right. |
3 | Stumble left. |
4 | Stumble backwards, falling afterwards. |
5 | Spin briefly, then fall in place. |
6 | Move as intended but at a clumsy run, falling over afterwards. |
If your precision score reaches a negative number, this means that you have lost control of your own movements and are completely passed out. While you do not automatically take damage, you will not regain consciousness until your precision returns to 0 or higher and are at risk of starvation and exposure to the elements.
