Assigning Attributes
When creating your character, rank each of these attributes from 2-6, making sure to not re-use any numbers. Here are a few examples of how stats could be assigned for different types of characters:
Melee warrior
- Athletics: 6
- Endurance: 4
- Precision: 5
- Intellect: 2
- Soulpower: 3
- High athletics and precision gives an edge for attack and damage rolls in melee combat, and soulpower is favored over intellect to give some resistance to harmful enemy magic. This character will have a poor time in social situations due to a low Intellect, likely relying on the Intimidation skill instead.
Scholarly mage
- Athletics: 2
- Endurance: 3
- Precision: 4
- Intellect: 5
- Soulpower: 6
- Soulpower is the highest stat to allow for Soul Magic and Intellect is kept high for Ritual Magic and Academics skill rolls, but precision is also kept high to aid with operating some enchanted devices. This character needs to stay out of combat due to having very few hit points.
Battlefield engineer
- Athletics: 3
- Endurance: 4
- Precision: 5
- Intellect: 6
- Soulpower: 2
- Engineering skill rolls require a good Intellect score, and Athletics is ranked low because guns and grenades are best used at a distance. This character will need to be wary of spellcasters, as low Soulpower and Athletics scores together make a character highly vulnerable to Rending's Cripple attack.
