Primitive Attacks
Skill Description
The Primitive Attacks skill represents training and experience with using the body as a weapon. It most influences a character's ability to attack when unarmed, but it also determines the accuracy of thrown objects.
When To Use It
Primitive Attacks skill rolls are primarily used for accuracy rolls in combat to determine whether an attack with an unarmed attack or a thrown weapon successfully hits to deal damage. By extension, it is useful for certain rituals that require touch, as well as for grappling.
Primary Attributes
Precision
- Attack rolls with unarmed attacks.
- Attack rolls with one-handed thrown objects.
Intellect
- Analyzing the technique of unarmed martial artists.
- Knowledge about hand-to-hand martial arts, such as the origins of specific martial arts or the details of specific techniques, can be rolled with a higher difficulty. Academics is the preferred skill for such rolls.
Athletics
- Attack rolls with two-handed or bulky thrown objects.
- Certain competitions of strength that involve direct contact, such as arm wrestling. Such rolls should generally have increased difficulty, as Conditioning? is the preferred skill for such rolls.
