Vagabond
"It's not that bad - everyone wanting me dead, that is. It means I know exactly who I can trust."
- Mesym Vern, wanted criminal
Background
A vagabond is someone raised without a home, either literally or metaphorically. For some, that means a life of wandering and persecution without a consistent hearth to sleep at. For others, it means trauma and paranoia that makes them feel uneasy in any house. The uniting theme of the vagabond background is an upbringing filled with constant uncertainty.
Many vagabonds learn well to hide their distrust of the world. While many are trapped in homelessness by their means or simply choose not to settle down for other reasons, many others are able to lead quite normal looking lives. The constant fight-or-flight reactions, nightmares that haunt their dreams, and inherent distrust of new things simply become hidden behind a mask of calm.
